Missing Person - Sydney West last seen Golden Gate Bridge
PLEASANTON, CA — A vigil to find Sydney "Syd" West, who was raised in Pleasanton and has not been seen or heard from in three weeks, is slated for 6 p.m. Thursday.
Residents will gather at Lions Wayside Park (4401 First St.) to bring together her community, celebrate their love for her and keep up the momentum to find her, organizers said. Remarks and an open microphone session will begin at 6:15 p.m.
West was a University of California, Berkeley student until recently, San Francisco police said. She was living with friends in San Francisco when she disappeared and was last spotted near the Golden Gate Bridge at Crissy Field before dawn Sept. 29.
West is 5'10" and 130 pounds, with blue eyes and light brown hair. Shewas last seen in long, dark leggings, a teal sweatshirt and slip-on Vans in a dark green and black print.
"This is every parent's nightmare and all we want is our daughter Sydney to be found safe and brought home to our family," said West's father in a plea for help.
West, 19, was born in Walnut Creek and lived briefly in Castro Valley before her family moved to Pleasanton. She was a student at Donlon Elementary and Hart Middle schools and attended Foothill High School for her freshman and sophomore years.
Her family relocated to North Carolina in July 2017. West's parents, Jay and Kimberly West, will attend Thursday's vigil, along with her great-uncle and aunt, Peter Kadzik and Amy Weiss.
The San Francisco Police Department and a private investigator are following up on leads in the case, and her family asks that Bay Area residents continue to share her missing-person flyers and Facebook page, Weiss said.
"We know her last location was near the Golden Gate Bridge/ Chrissy Field very early in the morning on Wednesday (Sept. 30). The family needs assistance from those who run/walk/bike/commute in that area in the early mornings," Weiss added.

He's connected to Diablo Canyon but he remarried someone from Contra Costa Superior Court connected to Commander Wielsch and Deputy Tanabe sometimes the bailiff connected where another divorcee friend. She was beaten to coma around the same window where I a was nearly beaten to death. Those incidents are connected to Attorneys sharing an office with my counsel that burned down.
